And here I am again, just wanting to type out another blog post. After publishing my “first ever blog” post last night, I just wanted to write some more. Maybe I’m just having this first-time excitement, that it’s what I’ve been wanting to rather do most of today. Work definitely didn’t help take my mind off of it, as while I was waiting for my boss to send me some more work, I spent some of my time viewing some other bloggers out there.
One of the things that I’ve been wanting to talk about is mostly what I tend to do in my spare time when I’m not at work, and I have time to myself. The easiest way to say it is that, I’m a gamer. Been playing video games since I was a kid, and it has always been a part of me since then. Lately, it’s been a great hobby for me to be able to connect with the friends I meet online from the communities I join. You can find a community based off of anything video game related. It can be people who just love Nintendo games, or parents that can’t wait to introduce their kid to gaming. It’s been a great way to find people who enjoy the same styles that you do, and also gets just as excited as you do when playing your favorite game.
What I have been playing as of lately is Tom Clancy’s The Division 2 from Massive Entertainment. This game came out back in March 15th, and the time that I have spent playing, I’ve been loving almost every moment with it. It combines a great third person shooter mixed in with a loot system that has you wanting to get the best gear out there in the game. The game offers replayability with a higher difficulty, and new modes to play for when you want something different.
Another one that I have been playing lately is The Legend of Zelda Breath of the Wild. My street cred for The Legend of Zelda is very small (only played a few of their games), but this one has been just a beautiful experience. The image to the right is a great example with how amazing the world they create looks. It’s an open world game, which means that you can pretty much go anywhere in that game. You can spend most of your time playing for a day, and all you could’ve done was just walk all over the place. There’s a main objective to the game, which is defeat the villain and save the world. But I’m sure they don’t mind waiting for you as you just discovered a new village to explore.
There have been times that I tend to play more than I really should, and to some people, it can look at a problem. I will admit that there has been a time or two since I opened up this site, that I could’ve put the controller down and typed out a post or two. But that “just one more level” mentality happens, and next thing you know, I pushed what I wanted to do aside for another day. This blog to me is a good way for me to express how I feel about my hobbies, and for me to vent on anything that might have happened recently.
It definitely feels like the norm anymore for people to play numerous hours of video games per day. But in the back of my mind, I still feel that most people look down on people who enjoy playing video games. It’s funny because today, those people who think gaming is a “waste of time” are the same people who would spend an entire Saturday, binge watching an entire season of a show and think it’s perfectly normal. I always wondered how watching tv for hours is perfectly fine, but that same amount of time spent on video games wasn’t at the time (even still).
Whether I’m at work, playing games, or just doing stuff around the house. Most of the time I have music playing somewhere, and lately what I have been listening to has been soundtracks for video games. Most of the songs have just be instrumental because most of the time it’s usually playing in the background with what you are doing in the game. As I’m typing this out, I have a playlist on YouTube going on which is a compilation of calming music from video games, which I definitely recommend giving a try. To me, it’s been a great way to have playing in the background as I’m working, or just needing to unwind.
As I wrap up this post, I want to thank everyone who takes the time to come into my blog site and give my thoughts a read. It always will mean a lot to me, because it shows that you are giving my posts a look. Even if it’s nothing of your interest, I will always appreciate every view, feedback that I get. Speaking of feedback, I am always open to feedback about what you thought about the post, or what may have lost your interest in reading it. If it’s just to post “you suck” on my blog, I’m sure you can find a better time to spend instead of posting a comment that I’ll just pretty much ignore.
Well I hope you all have a great day wherever you are, and until next time!
